Wedding photography Peloponnese – Elafonisos
Wow!! What a choice!! This is a Wedding photography portfolio of a wedding day at the unique and less visited island of Elafonisos at Peloponnese in Greece. As a Greek wedding and event photographer one of the places that I photograph at is of course Peloponnese! Peloponnese wedding photographer
Peloponnese is one of the top destinations worldwide for wedding photography, engagement photography, anniversary photography and wedding portraits photo session!
Several of the following wedding images have been awarded, published and distinct-ed.
Photographs first and after that the story

Although I have photographed many weddings at Peloponnese, that was the first time I had the chance to photograph a wedding at Elafonisos.
Destination wedding photographer – Peloponnese wedding photographer
One of the good parts being a destination wedding photographer is that you have the chance to visit various places!
(one of the bad things is the exhausting travelling you have to do sometimes, from one destination to another but that concerns another post…)
and now the story
Spiros and Elissavet!
hmmm……it seems I forgot somebody!!! ZULU!! This lovely couples dog 🙂
We talked on Skype with Spiro and Elissavet about a year ago and I immediately felt the quality of their characters!
Excellent communication, great characters, beautiful and stylish appearance…this couple has the whole “package”!
Ahh, yes…they also have ZULU (I love dogs you see 🙂
Anyway, the selection of the place that they got married matches perfectly with their own style and aesthetics.
Elafonisos is a really unique destination, not very well known (the opposite I would say) but exceptional!
“Discreet and hidden gem island “! These could be the words for a description regarding this island.
The wedding party
Well, the wedding was an opportunity for holidays for Spiro, Elissavet, Zulu, their family and their friends.
Most of them were already a few days there enjoying the crystal clear waters and stayed for a few more after the wedding.
Me and my colleagues arrived the day before and after having some rest from the long journey, we joined the wedding group at Simos beach, at their beach party!
Unfortunately, only for a couple of hours.
Very organised I must say….tents, drinks, sports, even electricity generator to support the music equipment!
The wedding day
Agios Spiridon is the villages church situated by the small harbour.
That was the church were Spiros and Elissavet got married.
All the decoration, even the smallest details were handmade and created by Elissavet!!
After the wedding we had very limited time for the “wedding portraits” photo session (very very limited time!!) but I think we did well!
The reception was held at an old taverna at the top of a hill behind the village.
Spiros and Elissavet are my new friends and my wish and what I wish to them is…….to be the same happy, positive and in love couple as they were at their wedding day for the rest of their life!

A few words about Elafonisos:
Elafonisos (Greek: Ελαφόνησος) is a small Greek island between the Peloponnese and Kythira. It lies off the coast of Cape Malea and Vatika. The area of the island is 19 square kilometres (7 square miles).
The population is between 300 and 350 during the winter but increases dramatically in the summer months. During July and August the number of tourist visitors reach over 3,000 per day (bringing with them some 1,600 cars). Many people visit the island for its light coloured, sandy beaches. Among the most well known of its beaches are Sarakiniko, Fragos (Simos) and Panagias Nissia, all filled with blue-green waters.
Elafonisos is by far the largest inhabited island in the Peloponnese archipelago, and the only one that is a separate municipality. There are also some archaeological discoveries to explore on the island and in the surrounding waters. The main church of the community is Agios Spyridon (Greek: Άγιος Σπυρίδων), which is built on a tiny separate piece of land which is connected by a bridge over shallow waters to the rest of the island. The community’s land area also includes 3 km2 (1 sq mi) of the mainland consisting mainly of the famous Punta Beach.
On the nearby mainland, approximately 6.5 km (4.0 mi) east is Neapoli (Greek: Νεάπολη) of the municipality of Vatika. About 8.5 km (5.3 mi) south is Cape Frangos (Greek: Φράγκο) on the island of Kythira.
